Retrograde motion:
- The apparent backward motion of celestial bodies
- Basically, depending on the point of observation, celestial bodies appear to be moving backwards, but they aren’t.
Ptolemy:
- This suggested that planets moved in little circles while orbiting the earth
- This was suggested in conjunction with the geocentric model
- this is false, and so is the geocentric model.
